Viña del Mar y Isla Negra

Sabado - 9 nov - Viña del Mar
Today I went to central coast to visit the beach city Viña del Mar. When I arrived in Viña I walked along the coast and made some picture of giant birds. After a short walked I arrived at the beach. Unfortunately it was too cold to swim.
I visted Viña's famous Reloj de Flores, a gigant clock made of flowers, and Museo Francisco Fonk with has an important Easter Island collection and a some pre-hispanic exhibits.
After lunch, a completo giganto, I walked to Cerro Rodriguez, one of the 8 hills wich separted Viña del Mar from Valparaiso.
It was a bit a borred day because many monuments where closed and I could´t visited Valparaiso because of a strike. I think the goverment is renovating this monuments now because it´s sprin here now and there aren´t many tourist yet, so it´s a good time to prepare everything before the summer cames. Probally Viña is more fun in the summer or when you combinate it with Valpraiso. This weekend I will go to the north to visit La Serena and next week I will visited Valparaiso and Reñaca.
A lot more impressive was the journey itself. A 2 hours ride from Santiago, through the Andes, a long some vineyards, brings you the central coast.
Domingo - 10 nov - Isla Negra
Today was a lot more intresting as the saturday. I visited a small village called Isla Negra. Pablo Neruda, a famous chilean poet, lived here for many years. His house is located on the beach, wich has an amazing view on the pacific ocean. Pablo is an inspiring person who travelled around the world. In his house he collect object wich remind him to his travels and childhood. After the museum I had lunch in a marisquería (restaurant for fish and sea food) and went to the beach.

Jammer dat de zaterdag een beetje tegenviel.
Er is nogal eens wat dicht als je een museum wil bezoeken. Jammer.
Gelukkig was de zondag wel geslaagd.
